53. Mirror Test and Self-awareness

The mirror test is a self-awareness test that is based on whether animals have the ability to recognize themselves in a mirror image, thereby assessing their self-awareness. (This test is controversial because animals may not necessarily rely on visual recognition and may also be unfamiliar with mirrors).

In the test, two odorless spots of paint are applied to the animal's body. The test spot is visible in the mirror, while the control spot is in a reachable but not visible location. Scientists observe the animal's reaction, which shows that it is aware of the test spot on its own body while ignoring the control spot. Animal responses include turning and adjusting their posture to observe or attempt to touch the marked spot on their body. After years of research, animals that have passed the test include chimpanzees, dolphins, elephants, pigs, European magpies... and even ants. As a result, it is concluded that 'ants passing the test demonstrate that a simple neural structure can generate self-awareness.'

Yi refers to the information from high frequency civilization that this book transmits.

Yiology is a means of practice of the information of Yi on the Earth.

Yi is not to make you believe, but to teach you how to question!

Someone asked me, 'Does the mirror test prove that ants have self-awareness?'

No, it only proves how absurd human antics can be within the limits of Jue (Perception) Shi (Cognition).

If the mirror test is just a game, it doesn't matter; it's just a game. However, as a 'research test,' it seriously misleads human understanding! Unfortunately, such antics are not limited to the mirror test. Before long, humans may also believe that AI has self-awareness.

Cognizing self-awareness requires answering two questions first: What is the self and what is consciousness? If these two questions are not clear, 'self-awareness' becomes a false proposition, akin to self-deception.

What is the self? This book has discussed this extensively, and please refer to the previous chapters. Here, I will provide only a hint: self-awareness presupposes the 'self.' If the self has not yet been discovered, 'your thoughts and self-awareness' are no different from a mirage.

What is consciousness? It remains a mystery of humanity, and is still under exploration! Those who study Yiology should know that consciousness is a product of Yi Body, emerging as Jue (Perception) Shi (Cognition) develops. Previously, people lacked the cognition of Yi Body and defined certain phenomena as 'consciousness, subconsciousness, and unconsciousness,' missing the mark by a mile, leading to many biases in the fields of psychology and psychiatry.

What is the truth about ants passing the mirror test? It is quite simple: a reflexive response under specific conditions.

In fact, all animals in the mirror test exhibit this response (a specific animal may not necessarily react). What humans observe is the appearance, resulting in absurd conclusions due to the limitations of Jue (Perception) Shi (Cognition).

So, what is self-awareness?

For those who study Yiology, this is an important question. Without this cognition, one remains a confused being in the end.

Human beings' self-proclaimed self-awareness may not necessarily be true! Self-awareness has nothing to do with 'name, gender, education, social relationships, etc.' These are merely the positioning of the reincarnation wave for the Physical Body. Self-awareness is not reflected in 'the ability to recognize one's Physical Body,' but rather discovered through the growth of Jue (Perception) Shi (Cognition). The following three points serve as criteria: Independent personality, independent emotions, and growth will.

Independent Personality: This refers to the process of 'discovering the self' during the growth of Jue (Perception) Shi (Cognition), which is also the process of developing an independent personality. “Being Self” in Yiology means independent personality, which forms the foundation of self-awareness.

Independent Emotions: Emotions that are based on an 'independent personality' are true independent emotions. These emotions do not mix with moods, are not swayed by temptations, and remain loyal to the frequency of life, being delicate and pure.

Growth Will: This means 'breaking free from low-frequency cycles' and not allowing life to stagnate. Possessing this Jue (Perception) Shi (Cognition) and ability is crucial; Otherwise, 'independent personality' and 'independent emotions' become rootless and fade away within low-frequency cycles.

Only when these three points are present can a life possess self-awareness. How to achieve these three points will be explained further to people who have attended Yiology courses.

Low-frequency cycles are not uncommon; for example, 'monotonous repetitive work, mechanical and rigid lifestyles, the cycle of the Physical Body's life and death,' and so on. People instinctively resist and long to break free from them. This stems from the Yi Body’s intention to protect and save the self-awareness. You may not have known this before, but in the future, you must be clear about what self-awareness truly is.
