5. The Yi Body

Who am I? I had never thought about it before, or at least I had never thought it would be a problem. This is not a trivial question; the positioning of "I" affects one's basic understanding of the world. If the positioning is unclear, confusion, paranoia, and distress will follow.

Later, I learned that there are many terms to describe "I," such as: true self, false self, higher self, lower self, divine self, id and so on. This shows that people in the past must have pondered the question of "who am I" as well.

What I'm discussing here comes from my personal sensing and should not be overly associated with religious or philosophical meanings. I'm not very interested in religion or philosophy, and my understanding of them is limited to hearsay. When I was in elementary school, it was the end of the Cultural Revolution. After the campaign of "sweeping away all class of enemies", religion became synonymous with feudal superstition. When filling out forms, teachers required us to write "none" in the belief column. Otherwise, classmates would treat you as a monster. As for philosophy, during high school and college, I did enjoy borrowing such books from the library. I didn't actually read them but rather wanted to appear deep. At that time, students generally believed that philosophy was suitable for jest but not for sustenance. This behavior of borrowing books to look cool didn't last long, and soon I stopped going to the library at all.

I should be thankful for this growing experience because, after acquiring the "sensing" ability, it allowed me to develop an independent understanding of the world.

Why don't people realize the question "who am I"? It's because most people believe they already have an answer. “I am John and I am in Beijing”; “I am Tom and I am a Shanghainese”. Are these the answers? Of course not! “John” and “Tom” are merely code names for the Physical Body of this life. (Physical Body is the host of Yi Body.) So, is the Physical Body under this code name me? Still, no! The body is the carrier of "I."

"I" is a special form of energy that resides in the Physical Body and drives it. This energy is called Yi Body. In other words, Yi Body is the original self of a person. "Near-Death Experience" is a short detachment of the Yi Body from the Physical Body. People who are unaware of the existence of Yi Body may fear this separation, believing it to be "the soul leaving the body or ghostly encounters."

Some people may say, “Isn’t Yi Body soul?” Why create a new phrase like “Yi Body”? I have no interest in creating new terms and I would not do so if they were the same. Unfortunately, they are not the same. The term “Soul” is a vague understanding that misinterprets Yi Body due to a lack of knowledge.

To avoid ambiguity, sometimes I also use the word “soul”. Please allow me to explain the definition repeatedly like in a textbook. I do this in order to reduce misinterpretation.

In life, my existence consists of two parts. One part is the creation of the Physical Body, which begins at the moment of the sperm and egg's union. The other part is the intervention of the Yi Body, which starts at the moment of the fertilized egg's development. When a baby comes into this world, the Physical Body's aspect of "I" is born, and the Yi Body is sealed within the Physical Body. The Yi Body is like a deep sleep, and all sentient beings lose their sense of "I" because of this.

Yiology is a means of practice of the information of Yi on the Earth.

Yi is not to make you believe, but to teach you how to question!

Sensing is the independent cognition of “I”. As my sensing ability strengthens, it brings about some profound changes that both delight and frighten me. The delight comes from gradually clarifying the question "who am I." The fear comes from the fact that the world I sense is different from the world I have known since childhood.
