Jue Shi means perception and cognition. Jue (Perception) is the perception of energy; Shi (Cognition) is the cognition of the perception.
The way people feel about their lives and their life experiences, to a large extent, depends on their capacity of Jue (Perception) Shi (Cognition). Some people tend to be "extreme in their thinking and obsessive in their actions." Extremeness is due to a lack of "field-based thinking," and obsession stems from insufficient Jue (Perception) Shi (Cognition) and lack of understanding of balance. Therefore, we need to enhance our Jue (Perception) Shi (Cognition) and understand it.
Every person is a system of Jue (Perception) Shi (Cognition). We confirm our existence and significance through Jue (Perception) and Shi (Cognition). The sensation of the Physical Body and perception of energy of the Yi Body can all be considered as part of Jue (Perception). Jue (Perception) forms the basis of Shi (Cognition) and Shi (Cognition) is the sublimation of Jue (Perception). Our understanding of the world is entirely derived from, and restricted by, our Jue (Perception) Shi (Cognition).
To help you understand, I would like to introduce Jue (Perception) Shi (Cognition) in four situations: “no Jue (Perception) and no Shi (Cognition)”, “Jue (Perception) without Shi (Cognition)”, “Shi (Cognition) without Jue (Perception)” and “Jue (Perception) and Shi (Cognition)”. In reality, Jue (Perception) Shi (Cognition) is not divided into parts; it is a holistic capability.
“No Jue (Perception) and No Shi (Cognition)“: It is a form of existence. Strictly speaking, human beings cannot perceive what exists outside of human beings’ Jue (Perception) Shi (Cognition).
“Jue (Perception) without Shi (Cognition)“: Sensing something but not recognizing it. For instance, an apple falls on people’s head; Some people think of gravity and some other people swear.
“Shi (Cognition) without Jue (Perception) “: The mastery of knowledge can be understood as Shi (Cognition) without Jue (Perception). For example, knowing that arsenic is poisonous, one does not need to be poisoned to recognize the Jue (Perception) of arsenic.
“Jue (Perception) and Shi (Cognition)“: Jue (Perception) and Shi (Cognition) are mutually dependent and mutually constraining. The difference in Jue (Perception) Shi (Cognition) determines different life experiences for all living beings.
We need to develop Shi (Cognition) and improve the ability of Jue (Perception) Shi (Cognition). Without the control of Shi (Cognition), Jue (Perception) will lead us astray. For instance, in the case of Out-of-Body Experience, if Shi (Cognition) is not sufficiently developed, Jue (Perception) will misguide Shi (Cognition), making you believe that what you see and feel during the out-of-body experience is the truth. In reality, you are still “confused by Xiang (Manifestation)”, which is far from the truth.
